The Road District offers a courtesy brush pick up to those living on Township-maintained roads. All brush requests must be made by noon on the Friday prior to the pickup.

Firewood length logs may be dropped off by residents year-round. Brush drop off is available on the last two weekends of the month from 6:30 am Friday – 6:30 am Monday. No commercial or landscape dumping is allowed.

GROOT

Common Waste Hauler

The new common waste hauler, GROOT, offers township residents unlimited curbside pick-up of containerized landscape waste from the first full week of April to the second full week in December. Containers must be no larger than 35 gallons and weigh no more than 50 pounds each. Bundled brush shall not exceed 4 feet in length and weigh no more than 50 pounds each. This is a separate service specifically provided by GROOT. For more information, please call their customer service directly: 847-734-6400.

Courtesy Brush Pick Up

The Road District offers a courtesy brush pick up for those residing on Township-maintained roads. This is strongly enforced.

We have limited brush pickups to the first 25 households who submit a request online or by calling our office each month.

The Highway Department reserves the right to modify the schedule, and move pickup or drop off dates, when necessary. All brush requests must be made by noon on the Friday before the pickup.

Guidelines:

  • Submit a request here or by calling the office, 847-639-2700 x6, no later than Friday at noon before pick up.
  • Only available to those on an Algonquin Township Road District maintained road.
  • All brush must be placed on the easement, within 5’ of the roadway with butt ends facing the roadway.
  • Piles limited to a 15’ span with branches 2” to 15” in diameter, bundle branches less than 4’ in length with twine.
  • Brush placed out without a request or after the chipper has passed through will not be picked up.
