Our facility hosts a specialized recycling event once a month (April through October) for all Algonquin Township residents. Items accepted include TVs, monitors, small kitchen appliances, small home electronics, and car & marine batteries.

Recycling
We accept items weekdays 6:30 am—2:30 pm.

Items Accepted Daily
Cardboard, beverage containers, aluminum, flags, newspaper, small electronic, clothes, shoes, and styrofoam are accepted daily.

Alternate Recycling Locations
Construction debris, large appliances, furniture, propane tanks, bulbs, and batteries must be recycled elsewhere.

Prohibited Items
Hazardous household items will not be accepted.

Specialized Recycling Events
Specialized Recycling takes place once a month and is open to all Algonquin Township residents.

Please call for pricing on latex, water, and oil based paints and stains.

Tires ($)
• Rimless Small Tires: $5.00/each
• Rimless Car Tires: $10.00/each
• Rimless Truck Tires: $20.00/each
• Rimless Tires Other: $50.00/each
*There will be a $10.00 surcharge per tire if the rims need to be removed by the Road District.

The Algonquin Township does not recycle the following items:
- Lumber
- Large appliances
- Light bulbs
- Furniture

- Batteries
- Aerosols
- Medication
- Medical waste
- Hazardous materials

- Treated lumber, 2x4s, or any kind of construction or demolition debris
- All large household appliances

- Mattresses and furniture
- Propane tanks

- Thermostats, thermometers, smoke detectors, and carbon monoxide detectors
- All aerosol products
- Personal care products: cosmetics, shampoos, nail polish, etc.
- Medications: over the counter and prescription (people and pet) or DEA controlled substances (DEA site or call 312-353-7875)

- Pool chemicals
- Fertilizer, herbicide, pesticide, and insecticide
- Solvents: Mineral Spirits, kerosene, thinners, and sealers
- Varnishes, sealers, oil-based paint
- Antifreeze, gas, brake fluid, etc.
- Drain cleaners, household cleaners, metal polishes
- Driveway sealers, deck sealers and cleaners, paint removers
