ACCEPTED ITEMS:

  • ONE TV or Computer Monitor per Algonquin Township Household per event

  • Small kitchen items:

    blenders, toasters, vacuums, microwaves, instapots, air fryers, crockpot bases, coffee makers, food processor bases, mixers, stand mixers, panini makers, electric griddles, juicers, toaster ovens, pasta makers, bread makers, immersion blenders

  • Additional small home electronics:

calculators, electric pencil sharpeners, fax machines, typewriters, desktop computers and/or towers, MODEMs, desktop scanners, computer components, laptops, answering machines, cell phones, telephones, phone systems, digital recorders, converter boxes, MP3 players/music players, camcorders, cameras, stereos, video game consoles, controllers, VCRs, DVD players, air conditioners (window unit ONLY), small dehumidifiers, humidifiers, fans, power tools

  • Used motor oil

  • Car and marine batteries

ITEMS NEVER ACCEPTED:

Treated Lumber, 2x4s, or any kind of construction or demolition debris

Refrigerators, freezers, all large household appliances

Fluorescent tubes, compact fluorescent tubes, or light bulbs

Mattresses and Furniture

Propane Tanks

ALL household batteries (AA, AAA, C, D, etc.)

Medical waste, sharps/needles, medication

Hazardous Household Items including:

Thermostats, thermometers, smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors

All aerosol products (spray paint, hair spray, etc.)

Antifreeze, gas, brake fluid, etc.

Drain cleaners, household cleaners, metal polishes

Driveway sealers, deck sealers and cleaners, paint removers

Fertilizer, herbicide, pesticide, insecticide

Solvents: Mineral spirits, kerosene, thinners, sealers

Stains, varnishes, sealers

Pool chemicals

Personal care products: Cosmetics, shampoos, nail polish, etc.

TIRES FOR A CHARGE*:

Effective 01/01/2020, tire recycling fees have increased. There will be a $10.00 surcharge per tire if the rims need to be removed by the Road District.

  • Rimless Small Tires: $4.00/each

  • Rimless Car Tires: $5.00/each

  • Rimless Truck Tires: $10.00/each

  • Rimless Tires Other: $25.00/each

    PAINT FOR A CHARGE FROM A THIRD PARTY VENDOR,

    EarthPaint (APRIL-OCTOBER ONLY):

    Latex Paint, water based primer and water based stains:

    $2.50/Quart, $5/Gallon, $18/Bucket

    ** NEW ** Spray Paint $2.00/Can

    We do not accept oil-based paint, solvents, varnish, deck sealers or products intended for industrial or non-architectural use.
